 Purpose - The purpose of the United Methodist Women is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Membership - Any woman committing herself to the Purpose of the organization can be a member.
Opportunities - United Methodist Women is a nearly 1 million member-strong organization of women who seek to know God and to make life better for women, children, youth and marginalized neighbors in the ever-expanding global village of today's world. United Methodist Women provides opportunities for:
- Leadership development
- Study of issues impacting their neighborhoods, nation and world;
- Participation in informed advocacy and actions
- Financial support of institutions and projects empowering women, children and youth in the United States and around the world
Summary of Our Missions - Some of our yearly missions have / will include:
- Fall Craft Show
- Mystery Dinner Theaters
- Church Camp Scholarships
- Chocolate Easter Eggs (Fundraiser)
- Prayer Pals
- Breakfast with Santa
- Church Cookbook
- Free Community Luncheons
- Free Prom Dress / Tux Rentals
- Free Coats / Gloves
- Free Health Fair / Health Seminars
- Easter Egg Hunt / Halloween Bumquet
Organization - There are four officers..
- President
- Vice-President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
Executive Committee - Since our group meets Bi-Monthly we have found the need to create an executive committee capable of making time sensative decisions for the entire group on months we don't meet. The Executive commitee is comprised of the four officers and the chairpersons from each of our missions listed above. They will only make decisions on items that can't wait until the next meeting.
