"Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young." 1 Timothy 4:12a (NLT).
That's the tagline for Emmanuel UMC's Kindergarten through Third Grade Sunday School class. Jesus told His followers that little kids were way cool, and He loved spending time with them. Then, He said they will show us what our faith should look like if we want to see the Kingdom of God. Wow!
Sunday School for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade should be about more than making simple little crafts for parents to hang on the fridge. Oh, we make plenty of simple little crafts, and I sincerely hope they end up on the fridge. Please remember, though, when you're cleaning the loose glitter off the kitchen floor, it's not just something your kid made while you were in church - it's a piece of the roadmap to the Kingdom!
If your children are K-3, I sure hope they'll consider joining us in the Multi-Purpose Room during the 10:30am service. Our curriculum is the "Hands On Bible," and its premise is this: There is only one thing worth being concerned about, and that's a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We foster this growing relationship through weekly "Bible Points," games and crafts, sharing of relevant experiences, a "Jesus Connection," and prayer. We have snacks occasionally, and fun always!
Sunday School begins at 10:30am and is held on the second floor in the Multi-Media room. Parents are invited sign their children in upstairs and then to attend worship (also at 10:30am) in the sanctuary. Sunday School is optional, but well worth your children's attendance.
