A Church with a Vision and a Purpose We are a vision-driven church with a single purpose - "Making Disciples of Jesus Christ". The image (pictured) is what we believe is God's vision and purpose for us. We call it the Vision chart. Our Vision Teams We accomplish the purpose through five Vision Teams: Faith-Forming Relationships Empowering Our Teams Each of our teams are empowered to perform their job (or ministry) with a certain independance of the other teams. But each of the teams also has a member on the Vision Team - the team that dreams without restrictions and offers "cohesive direction" back to the five teams. This structure keeps us focused on God's purpose for us and cuts a ton of red tape (and unwanted politics) out of the equation. As a result, we are finding that our ministries have become more effective and efficient. How the Vision Chart Works Here is an example of how the Vision can be lived out: As a guest, you probably found Emmanuel through one of our Outreach or Mission Ministries (by the way, this website is an Outreach Ministry). If you visit us on a Sunday, you will then experience Hospitality and then Worship. (Hopefully to your liking.) So you will have already experienced 3 of 5 primary ministries. As you start to experience the different parts of the Vision, it's hoped that you will eventually find or discover what God has in mind for you. As that happens, it's our goal to help, to inform, and to equip you on your journey through Faith Forming Relationships (and perhaps a good sermon from our Pastor?) As you become more comfortable, informed, and empowered it's our hope you will join in and help others who seek God and begin to answer His call at Emmanuel. As more and more people enter the circle, more and more people help us in our purpose. When lived out, it becomes a wonderful never-ending circle. The Vision is Alive and Always "Front and Center"As you become familiar with Emmanuel, you will notice that we keep the Vision in the forefront. It will always be in our Sunday Bulletin and in our announcement loops. Our many teams (Vision Teams and Support Teams) are always asking, "Does it fit the Vision?" and "Does it Make Disciples?" before they take on new challenges. Our Pastor is always working to keep us within the vision and working towards our purpose. The reason? Miracles happen when we all work together. This keeps us working together and it makes us very effective.
